چکیده

We derive radial and vertical distributions of H i and H2 gas densities in our Galaxy by using the terminal velocity method. We calculate the molecular fraction (fmol) defined as the ratio of the molecular hydrogen to total hydrogen gas density at galactic longitude l = 33◦ ∼ 64◦ and galactic latitude b = −2◦ ∼ +2◦. The thickness of the molecular dominant region (fmol ≥ 0.8) is approximately constant (109 ± 12 pc) at galactocentric distance R '4.7−7.2 kpc. The molecular fraction decreases suddenly at a critical height from the galactic plane, below which the gas disk is almost totally molecular, while it is almost atomic beyond this height. We show that the vertical fmol variation can be reproduced by amodelwhich takes into account the phase transition between H i and H2 gases in the interstellar matter.

Molecular dynamics studies on the denaturation of polyalanine in the presence of guanidinium chloride at low concentration

Molecular dynamic simulation is a powerful method that monitors all variations in the atomic level in explicit solvent. By this method we can calculate many chemical and biochemical properties of large scale biological systems. In this work all-atom molecular dynamics simulation of polyalanine (PA) was investigated in the presence of 0.224, 0.448, 0.673, 0.897 and 1.122 M of guanidinium chlorid...

The Atomic to Molecular Transition in Galaxies. Ii: Hi and H2 Column Densities

Gas in galactic disks is collected by gravitational instabilities into giant atomic-molecular complexes, but only the inner, molecular parts of these structures are able to collapse to form stars. Determining what controls the ratio of atomic to molecular hydrogen in complexes is therefore a significant problem in star formation and galactic evolution. In this paper we use the model of H2 forma...

Spiral Molecular Front in Galaxies: Quick Transition from Atomic to Molecular Hydrogen in Spiral Arms

We derived a two-dimensional map of the molecular fraction, fmol, (ratio of the molecular gas density to that of total gas) in the spiral galaxy M51, and examined the behavior of molecular fronts (MF), where MF represents the place where fmol changes drastically from nearly zero to unity and vice versa. We show that the MF phenomenon occurs not only radial, but also in the azimuth direction thr...

DFT and HF Studies: Geometry, Hydrogen Bonding, Vibrational Frequencies and Electronic Properties of Enaminones and Their Complexes with Transition Metals

Enaminones are those structures made up three various functional groups including carbonyl, alkeneand amine groups which arelocated along with each other in a conjugate fashion. These compoundsare of much attention due to special characteristics and numerous applications. In the paper, sixvarious enaminone structures were theoretically optimized and after concluding, were compared withequivalen...

Modeling of the hydration shell of Adenine

The molecular geometry of complex of adenine with 8 water molecules was calculated with Hartree-Fock (HF). The standard 6-31G(d) basis set has been employed. The existence of C-H…O Hydrogen bonds between the water molecules and the hydrophobic part of nucleobase is stablished. We optimized structures and computed interaction energies of all complexes of adenine with water molecules step by step...
